Community Ventures Society (CVS) was founded in 1978 to provide support and services to people with disabilities and their families. For over 40 years, we have been helping people actively participate in a full range of community life through innovative programs – including community inclusion programs, children’s respite services, as well as facilitating specialized housing arrangements through our Shared Living, Adult Residential & Homes Programs. We continue to lead the way in facilitating self-advocacy throughout our communities.

CVS is Growing
We are now supporting 40 individuals in our day program and 76 families in our respite program. Government budgets are reduced but CVS still delivers high standards of service. "Individualized funding" - a new philosophy of service delivery makes its debut.

CVS celebrates 30 years of service in the Tri-Cities with a party with those across our community. CVS is awarded a 3-year accreditation for all CVS programs once again.

CVS partners with the Port Moody Station Museum, BC Self Advocacy Foundation & Inclusion BC to launch an Inclusion Exhibit entitled, "Inclusion, The journey to Community". CVS is once again awarded our CARF accreditation.
