Community Ventures Society (CVS) offers a number of contract positions in addition to its employment opportunities. The contract positions enable people who have experience with adults and children who have developmental disabilities to help people we serve by providing respite care as well as opening their home to individuals to assist with caregiving duties.
Contract positions are referred to us by third party agencies. For supporting people through our Shared Living program, individuals are referred to CVS through Community Living BC (CLBC) and in our Children’s Respite program, children and families are referred to us by the Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD). CVS then works to find a match between the individual and a caregiver. Caregivers that are found to be a match are contracted by CVS to then fulfil their caregiver role and are compensated through the funding provided by CLBC or MCFD.
