B.C Minister Nicholas Simons announced last week on March 16th, that a permanent increase to Income and Disability Assistance rates by $175 per month and an increase to the B.C. Senior’s Supplement by $50 per month.
This is a step in the right direction and CVS echoes the feelings of Inclusion BC, recognizing the increase is a first step in addressing the depth of poverty people experience in our province.
For persons receiving Income and Disability Assistance or the B.C. Senior\’s Supplement:
- No action is required
- Increased amounts will be on the April 21 payment
